I have some exciting news to share. Yesterday afternoon, I was asked to be the worship leader for a missionary men's retreat in Malaga, Spain. I am really excited about this opportunity. When I was first presented with the opportunity, I was told that the coordinator was looking for someone who had been broken and had experienced a deeper relationship with God as a result. This immediately interested me and I knew that I was going to be the one to do this. It's rare that I'm ever so confident about anything.
I contacted the coordinator and he said that he had already asked someone else and was waiting for a response. Somehow, this did not phase me. Somehow, I knew that it would not work out for this other guy to go and I would get the call. I am approaching this situation with much "fear and trembling" because it is obvious that God has ordained it for me to go. I don't know what He has in store, but it is either something that I am a perfect fit for, or something that is a perfect fit for me. Maybe both...
I need your help to make this happen. The organization is going to cover my expenses while I am in-country but they have asked me to raise my own support for a plane ticket (about $1000). I have missed out on missions opportunities before because I have been too afraid to ask my friends and family for help. If you would like to help support me on this trip, I can give you my address where you can send a check. Any overage will be used for incidentals and then any extra will be used to support other missions.
Just leave a comment and let me know (a) how much you can contribute, and (b) your email address. I will not post your comments if they contain this info. They'll just be used for my own record keeping.
Thank you for your help with this.
