#NewHymn: Oh, The All-Consuming Torrent

Hey, y'all! I know it's not a very catchy title, but I'm so excited to share this new hymn with you. I wrote it a few days ago as I was reading old hymn texts. Although I've written quite a few songs for congregational singing, this is my first one written in hymn form. I hope you enjoy it.

I botched one word on the demo. The correct words are on the sub-titles. Also, the chords that I play are a little different than the chords on the chart. Such is the nature of playing live.

If you enjoyed the song and would like to use it in your church or personal worship time, here's an MP3 demo, lead sheet, and chord chart. If you do use it, please let me know how it goes or send me a video of your congregation singing the song.

New Album - PERFECTLY WELL - update

Cool, huh?
Hey, Y'all! Just a couple of updates on the progress of the pre-sales. We're really close to reaching one of my intermediate goals for pre-sales of the new album. I'm ready to pack this up and send it off to the press. I am moving up the deadline for pre-ordering the new CD to February 1. If you are planning on pre-ordering a CD for the new album, please go ahead and go to the bandcamp site and do that before the end of the month.

Also, if you are interested in accompaniment tracks for the new album, I have uploaded them to the bandcamp site as well. The tracks are available for purchase individually without background vocals. Tracks with BGV are available as a bonus if you buy the whole album of accompaniment tracks.

Thanks, again, for all your support.

New Album: Perfectly Well - I Need Your Help!

Hey, y'all! I'm excited to share my new album, Perfectly Well, with you. This album is the culmination of about a year-and-a-half of writing and recording. I truly believe this is my best work to-date. I was excited to co-write half of the songs on the album with some talented writers and friends, Casey Halbgewachs and Todd Wright.

The digital album is available now on my bandcamp site. I am looking for some backers to pre-order a physical CD to help me offset the costs of manufacturing. If you would like to help with that, just click the link on the bandcamp page to "Pre-order compact disc". From there, you can name your own price. The minimum to pre-order a CD is $15. The finished CDs may be cheaper later. When I sell them live, I have a "pay-what-you-can" policy. By pre-ordering, you are investing in the process of making the CDs available at prices that anyone can afford. I'll take pre-orders until February 15 and then make a decision about the quantity and packaging I can afford to manufacture.

If you can invest more than the minimum $15 for a CD, there are additional incentives that you can read about on the site. To invest more, just leave the quantity set at "1" and name your price. You can also order several copies. Your incentives will be awarded based on the total price paid.

Your CD order also includes an immediate digital download of the album.

Thank you for supporting this project. I hope it is a blessing to you.

$100 Demo Service - Audio Sample

A few weeks ago, I mentioned a new service that I'm offering called "The $100 Demo". Basically, it is an 8-track recording geared toward singer-songwriters but available to anyone.

As you know, I recently finished a full-production recording for Todd Wright at Bethel Bible Church in Tyler. If you're not aware of this, click here. To promote my $100 Demo service, Todd was gracious enough to let me use the "scratch" guitar and vocal from that recording and build a $100 Demo around it. Scratch demos are placeholders until the final guitar and vocal can be recorded. I used Karen Hudson's piano track from our full Bethel session just to save time, but everything else on the demo track was recorded or programmed by me.

Please click over to The $100 Demo page and scroll down to check it out.

#ChangedEverything by Todd Wright

Hey, y'all! I'm proud to share a project I've been working on for the last few months with Todd Wright at Bethel Bible Church of Tyler, Texas. This is an excellent doctrinal song for the faith formation of the Church. Todd wrote the tune and I co-produced, engineered, and mixed the single. I also sang harmony and programmed percussion. If you enjoy it,  you can download the mp3 and a chart over at BethelSongs.com. If you'd like to contribute financially to support future projects, please consider buying the song from iTunes or Bandcamp.

Here's what Todd had to say about the project:'
"Working with Toby was one of the best recording experiences I've ever had. He's got serious musical knowledge and great technique when it comes to tracking. He was encouraging without overbearing, allowing the musicians to be themselves and challenging them toward excellence.
The mix phase was about as easy as can be and I would wholeheartedly recommend any singers, songwriters and bands to use Toby for their recording needs."
Please see my "Hire Me" page for more information about my studio services and my current prices.

Emmanuel - New Song Demo

Hey, y'all! Here's a new song I co-wrote earlier this week with my friend, Casey Halbgewachs. This is one of two songs that we wrote this week and one of five songs that we've written together. You've already heard one of our earlier songs, "All We Need". I hope you enjoy this one as well. This is a rough, live demo of the song.

Look for a full production demo and charts on PraiseCharts and Bandcamp soon.
